Have you ever wondered about how the government spends your tax dollars or have you looked for specific information on government spending.

This application queries (regularly updated) servers to provide information for every dollar spent on US federal government contracts in the past 10 years.

The iPad edition of the "Government Spending" app was released to Apple (in March 2010) for the launch of the iPad app store. It is in the "News" category of the app store

Application Features

1. Detailed Spending data including spending numbers, trends, pie charts, line graphs, top purchases, top contractors.

2. Spending data for specific Departments (e.g. Defense Department, Education Department, NASA etc.)

3. Historical data (upto 2000) and current data (upto 2010) with continuous updates

The app will help the involved citizen who wants to hold government accountable for spending decisions and it will also help the casual user understand what the government is spending money on.

The application can be obtained wirelessly through an iPad

To download the "Government Spending, iPad Edition" app, tap the "App Store" icon on your iPhone (or iPod-touch) and search for "Cascade Software" on the App-Store's search tab.

The iPhone "Government Spending" application is also available through iTunes

The application is priced at $.99 (.99USD, .79 EUR etc.)

To run the application, you will need an iPad.
